Fashion week is descending upon us and fashionistas everywhere are planning their look down to the last sequin. The smell of hairspray will permeate the air in New York, and the city will be transformed. There will be lists only the coolest people will get onto, parties only they will get into and glimpses of 7 foot, 90 lb models. If you’re not set to sit at the shows or get past the velvet ropes, that doesn’t mean you can’t be one of “them”. Dress the part and you may be able to get onto a list or two! Who knows? This year it may be a no-name designer but next year it could be Balmain.
Planning outfits can be tough, especially when there are so many trends out there and you want to remain individual but also stylish. Gucci mules, anyone? Hair is a great way to showcase your individual style because you can pick a runway trend and make it your own. Here’s a list of our favorite hair trends from Fall Fashion week.
- Forget about the amazing hat, Alberta Ferretti brought this casual hairdo back to the runway. Make the braid your own by adding pearls, tying it with a brooch at the end or even adding a crazy colored extension.
- The ’70s and ’80s are coming back! Try curling your bangs for a look that takes you back to the future
- Over the past few years we’ve seen wavy hair in different stages of waviness. Tight and retro, loose and beachy… Now there’s a new wave saying hello. They’re in line with the casual comfiness of fashion we’re seeing these days, and they’re oh so easy. Style your hair, wait three days for it to fall, and strut your stuff.
- A good ponytail has never gone out of fashion. Mix it up like JW Anderson with a cool comb-over. In this case he used it to showcase an earring, you can use it in the same way or take the chance to show off a crazy cool shoulder detail.
- This Max Mara look is one that we file under “do you know how hard I worked to make this look casual?”. Why do we love it? Because it actually does take pretty quick and works amazing on hair that’s got some grit to it. When it starts to fall, flip your hair to the other side for an instant lift!
- Ribbons and bows and everything nice. There is so much you can do with a ribbon in your hair. Simple sophistication or over the top, ribbons add personality to your locks. We’re obsessed with the way Rochas used their ribbons. How will you?
